About Miss B

Hi! I am Brittany Lauer. Also known as Miss B, Brit, B, Britters, and TR (short for Tootsie Roll used by my Mom). I am 33 years young and I was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer on September 23, 2019. My journey began on August 28th when I had my annual routine breast exam. At that appointment, my doctor found a lump and sent me for a mammogram and ultrasound of both my breasts. The left breast was highly suspicious of malignancy, a BiRAD5. I had a breast and lymph node biopsy that confirmed the presence of cancer. At this time, I was diagnosed Stage II/III. The next step was a PET scan and MRI to look for metastasis. The PET scan showed clear lymph nodes, but lesions in my liver. Having lupus, the doctor was not convinced it was metastasis. To help with treatment planning, I underwent a CT liver biopsy. The biopsy confirmed the cancer had spread. This changed my diagnosis to Stage IV, treatable but not curable.

I am 33 years young. I am healthy, fit, vivacious, and full of life. I am not the person you think of having cancer. I am not the person you think of having incurable breast cancer. But at the moment I am. I refuse to believe my best days are not ahead of me. I refuse to let this diagnosis take my light. I believe in God and because of that I believe in miracles.

I am looking to explore all treatment options to continue the fight. I want to continue my advocacy and educate women and men of this devastating monster we call cancer. I invite you join me on this journey.
