A number of people have commented about my retirement farewell message so I thought I would re-post it here, especially for those that I may have missed (accidentally, of course) on the original email distribution. If I worked with you through the years, it applies to you as long as you didn't make me look bad!
Farewell
Dear Friends and Co-Workers,
Before my access is removed, I want to take a moment to say thank you. Thank you for being a part of my career at The ERIE. You may have:
· Made me smile
· Made me laugh
· Listened to me when I needed an ear
· Turned me down for a job I was bidding on
· Given me a great PA
· Given me less than great PA (yes, you can get a bad PA and still call the person a friend, it is just work)
· Hugged me in the parking ramp in front of security cameras
· Made my job easier by being you and being ERIE
· Punched me in the arm
· Picked me up when I fell
· Brought me treats
· Worked with me
· Said good morning or good night
· Taken me to lunch
· Made me laugh harder
· Listened to my concerns
· Worked on a project with me
· Played volleyball with me
· Golfed with me
· Gave me tips on golf
· Made me look good (I took those that made me look bad off of the distribution)
· Helped me with a good cause
· Traveled with me
· Mentored me
· Had me focus on the right things
· Talked about me in a positive way
· Given me these creases on my face from smiling so much
· Been at a party
· Hugged me
· Refused to hug me
· Danced with me
· Made be laugh till my belly hurt
· Sent me a card
· Said hi
· Given me advice
· Called me a novice
· Said I have small, concave, or no cheeks
· Recognized my effort
· Volunteered with me
· Let me give you advice
· Just been you
In any case, I am thankful that you have been a part of my life. Whatever you did, you and others like you made me want to continue to come to work at Erie Insurance for over 44 years and to that I say a sincere Thank You! We are small in this world but you have been big in my life that I remember you today! However, I am proud to say that none of you made me laugh so hard that I snorted!
Remember, the rule says you can only blame me for anything that goes wrong for 6 months.
